Wellness Plans FAQ’S

What does a CPH Wellness Plan include?

Wellness Plans for pets are generally designed to provide annual preventive care. All plans include Comprehensive Examination, which mean head-to-tail check-up, doctor recommended vaccinations, laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures, dental cleaning, consultations for proper nutrition, and more!

Is a CPH Wellness Plan the same as pet insurance?

No, a Wellness Plan is not the same as pet insurance. It’s an annual healthcare package with all the necessary preventive healthcare services bundled together into one affordable and convenient plan.

Do you offer discounts on services that are not included in a plan?

Yes. Depending on the plan selected, our Wellness Plans discounts range from 5% to 20% off for professional services and products that are not included in the plan, but some exclusions apply. Please see our Wellness Plans to find more info.*. Please visit our Wellness Plans page to read more about what our plans offer.

What type of CPH Wellness Plans are available?

There is more than one option available. Depending on your individual pet’s needs, such as stage of life and/or health issues, your veterinarian will assist you in choosing an appropriate plan. Your plan will include the services and discounts that are the most beneficial to you and your pet. As a general rule, for adult pets, the services are provided during two thorough yearly exams. However, should your pet become ill, you can use your free office visits.

What if I have a puppy or kitten?

At this stage of life, your pet requires far more preventative care than an adult would. We’ll provide an initial visit to assess overall health, including thorough diagnostic testing. We’ll also administer vaccinations and deworming to protect your new pet from diseases and infections that can have long term effects. In this first year, you’ll need multiple visits to administer any further vaccinations and/or booster shots, as well as spay or neutering services. Don’t worry about the waiting around if you need to get back to work. You can leave your pet safely with us and schedule a convenient time for pick-up. You’ll also have free visits if your puppy or kitten gets sick for any reason.

Does my puppy or kitten really need a wellness plan?

We believe that preventative care from an early age provides a much better outcome for your pet’s ongoing health and longevity. Administering vaccines, boosters, and deworming medications, protects your pet from many devastating illnesses and diseases. Establishing good nutrition, adequate dental care, and making sure pets are free from infections and parasites, is equally as important to preventing poor health. And it goes without saying that having your pet spayed or neutered at an appropriate age is the most important thing you can do for their well-being.

When should a kitten or puppy be spayed or neutered?

Spaying or neutering early, preferably between four and six months, helps prevent behavioral problems that often arise with sexual maturity. Issues can include marking territory with urination, roaming far away from home, and even aggressive behavior. Not only is this frustrating for you, but it is frustrating to your pet as well. Performing surgery at this age is also less invasive and results in fewer complications, with less pain in recovery. Though we can perform this procedure on an older pet, it often involves more anesthesia and therefore longer recovery time, which may in turn be more expensive. We do everything we can before, during, and after surgery to ensure your pet’s comfort and well-being. We run blood tests prior to the procedure, monitor your pet with high quality equipment during the surgery, and administer electrolytes after surgery to help them recover quickly and safely in a comfortable environment.

Do I really need a wellness plan if I have a young adult pet?

Keeping your adult pet healthy for years to come is greatly enhanced by enrollment in a wellness plan. Regular examinations can catch health problems before they progress and become more difficult to treat. Pets can’t always let you know how they feel, and often hide pain. Good veterinary care of adult pets helps protect them from acquiring infections and parasites, as well. A twice-yearly review of your pet’s health, including a comprehensive exam, will keep them happy and healthy.

What does a CPH Wellness Plan cost?

Adult pet plans are different in cost from the cost for puppies or kittens. For more information, please see the CPH Wellness Plans page for the plans we have available.

How do I pay for a CPH Wellness Plan?

Though you can pay annually, we also offer the option of making monthly payments to make it easier on your budget. We can set it up so that payments are automatically deducted from your checking or savings account, or we can charge your credit card if you prefer.

Can I change my wellness plan level during the plan year if I choose?

If you need to change the level of your wellness plan, we can have the changes go into effect in the upcoming plan year. However, if you need to upgrade your plan to a higher level due to your pet’s veterinary needs, we can make the changes immediately upon your request. If you decide to downgrade your plan, it’s usually best to wait until it’s renewal time. You can discuss all options available to you with our CPH client care representative at any time.

Do I get a discount on wellness plans for multiple pets?

Absolutely! CPH Wellness Plan members are offered a $15 discount on the membership fee for multiple pets.

What if I want to cancel my plan?

Plan services are provided at significant discounts under an annual agreement. Agreements may be cancelled at any time. However, under the monthly pay option, services may have been performed that have not been fully paid for. In this situation, the client is responsible for the remaining payments on the plan or the full retail value for services or discounts used under the plan less payments made (whichever is less). To cancel or set a plan to non-renew please call (323) 462-0660.
